Endoscopic Spine Surgery

This minimally invasive surgery aims to stabilize the vertebral bones and spinal joints to relieve any pressure applied to the spinal nerves. Since the spinal nerves, vertebrae, and discs are located deep inside the body, any treatment or surgical approach to gain access to the spinal area requires moving the muscle tissue out of the way.

In endoscopic spine surgery, this is typically facilitated by a small tubular system, guiding instruments, micro incisions (about the diameter of a penny), and an endoscope for visualization. Endoscopic spine procedures are generally performed in an outpatient setting or 23-hour stay.

As this is a minimally invasive surgery, the whole surgical procedure is faster, safer, and requires less recovery time. In addition, the reduced trauma caused to the muscles, bones, and soft tissues in an endoscopic surgery compared to a traditional open surgery makes it less painful with minimal side effects.
